HUNTING "THE FUTURE"

As a kid growing up in a rural area hunting and fishing was something you just grew up doing. I spent a lot of time with my granddad hunting and fishing. He loved to hunt Whitetail Deer with dogs. I think he enjoyed hearing the dogs run more than seeing the deer. My granddad passed several years ago and as I look back I am so thankful for the time he took to teach me how to hunt and fish. His priority was safety, as it should be with all hunters.

 I spent a lot of time with my kids teaching them good, safe hunting and fishing techniques. I truly believe teaching kids hunting and fishing at a young age is something they will take with them through their lives and enjoy every minute of it. It’s an experience in your life you never forget when you harvest that first buck or catch that first wall hanger bass. 

Over the years a lot of my success has come from ideas sitting in the woods in a tree stand with a clear mind. Ideas just seem to come to me. I believe young people think about their future and clear their minds waiting on that trophy to appear.  Take a kid or young person hunting or fishing. They will never forget it and maybe they’ll follow you by doing the same in their future.
